Learn to Belly Dance at home without feeling lost, awkward, or behind

This is for you if:
You feel awkward in dance classes
You want structured guidance instead of random YouTube tutorials
You prefer learning privately at home
You think your body is “wrong” for dance (no body is wrong!!)
This is NOT for you if:
You already perform regularly
You want advanced drills and choreography
Here’s what your first month will look like:

Sort out your feet and hips with basic foot patterns and simple torso isolations

Your hips will start to obey you with more complicated hip movements, and we’ll get those shoulders involved so you feel like you’re dancing.

Let’s dance! Once you learn a few more movements, you’ll actually start to feel like you’re moving to the music - in other words, you’re dancing!

Are we dancing yet? Yes, yes we are! Put those movements into a combo and get moving to some fun music.

Not a lot! A small area in your living or bedroom where you can take a few steps forward and back is good. Bare floors are best, but carpet is fine, too (you might want to try some dance shoes for carpet).

Generally each class is about 30-45 minutes long, but the arm workshop is a little shorter (believe us, you don’t want it to be longer!)

Unless you’re a rhombus, you’re fine! Dance is for everyone, every body. The more you dance, the more your body will adjust to the movements. You might have some soreness (especially after the dance conditioning video) but you can go at your own pace and modify as you see fit for your own body.

This is a deeper question than you might be aware - but this is basic “belly dance” or, as it’s known in Arabic, “raqs sharqi” dance. These techniques are the basis of all the other movements styles that branch off of the belly dance tree. Learning these will position you to leap into any other style of “belly dance.”

Not yet, but we all know how exciting it is to dress up and get sparkly. Belly dance is a dance discipline like any other. It takes years to be ready to perform. While “now” is always a good time to dress up and feel good, you might want to try yoga/workout clothing for this class so you don’t get your costuming sweaty.

If you have a body, this dance style is for you. Belly dance started as a folk style that everyone participated in. Its cultures of origin vary widely from across the Mediterranean and Arab worlds, and the dance is not sacred, religious, or tied to any one nationality, religion, or culture (though most commonly it is associated with Egyptian culture). This style truly is for “the people.”

Totally normal! The lessons are designed so even a few sessions teach usable movements, and you have all the time you need to come back to the lessons. As long as Kamrah is teaching, you will have access to the lessons, on your own time.
